South Indian films that perform well theatrically typically see an OTT release within a month, and Amaran is expected to follow suit, likely premiering on Netflix by late November. Reports suggest that the film’s OTT rights were acquired for an impressive Rs 60 crore.
With its strong box office performance, Amaran is set to be one of the most profitable Tamil films of the year, further solidifying Sivakarthikeyan's position as a leading star. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film tells the gripping story of Major Mukund Varadharajan, an army officer who sacrifices his life in the fight against terrorism to protect the nation.
Alongside Sivakarthikeyan, Amaran features Sai Pallavi, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music that amplifies the emotional impact of the narrative. The film explores themes of patriotism, sacrifice, and the personal struggles faced by soldiers and their families, delivering a powerful tribute to the valour of the Indian Army.
